The Gourmandise School, touted as one of the Best Cooking Schools in Los Angeles, and the community supported fishery, Get Hooked, have paired up to bring you the best available seafood from the California coast into your classes. The Gourmandise School now uses Get Hooked fair-trade locally sourced seafood in our classes, and we can’t wait for you to try!

The partnership will give the Santa Monica-based cooking school’s students an opportunity to gain awareness about how to source sustainable seafood. Founders Kim Selkoe and Victoria Voss, women who know the value in making healthy food tasty, have put together a simple way to get seafood onto your table with sourcing that is transparent, trustworthy and fair-trade.

Get Hooked knows there can be confusion and stress that hits when staring at the seafood counter – Where is this from? Is it sustainable? Is it even the species it says it is? How do I know its fresh? Is there mercury in it? How should I cook it? The Get Hooked experience was designed to provide you top quality seafood from a source you can trust. They are always on call to answer your questions, and Get Hooked and Gourmandise are here to help you with recipes and techniques to make cooking seafood at home easier than ever.

How Get Hooked Membership Works

Get Hooked is a CSF (Community Supported Fishery) – a subscription-based program that delivers the highest quality sustainable seafood, sourced directly from local California fishermen to home cooks. 

Join Get Hooked and each week, you will receive the catch-of-the-day and pick it up from one of their site hosts near you, or you can opt in to home delivery. With a highly customizable subscription, you can select the quantity of seafood you would like, opt out of species you don’t like, or upgrade your order to one of our premade meal options like Lemon Caper Halibut or Pink Bay Shrimp Taco Kit. You can also add on other seafood and grocery items to your delivery like freshly baked bread and gourmet chocolate – all sourced from small local businesses.

You will receive a weekly newsletter that will tell you all about who caught your fish, how and where, as well as provide cooking tips and recipes.
