Our Favorite Cookware… and why we love it!

Our partnership with 360 Cookware is going on 5 years now, and we couldn’t be happier! If you ask yourself, does it really make a difference what kind of frying pan you use, the answer is yes it does.  When outfitting your kitchen, you don’t need to get the most expensive equipment. But, there are some things you really want to invest in, and a good frying pan is one of them.

A good pan could, and should, last you a lifetime.  Some pans even improve over their lifetime, like a cast iron pan that seasons itself over time as you lavish delicious fats and oils over the metal letting the heat seal it in to create its own non-stick coating.  One item in your culinary arsenal should be a good stainless steel frying pan.  It’s used to sear, scramble and sauté your meats, eggs, vegetables, sauces. Also great for just heating up some leftovers, which we prefer to do over using the microwave. (But I will in a pinch!)

There are so many options out there these days for cookware using so many types of materials:  aluminum, stainless steel, copper, ceramic, and more.  There are pros and cons to all, but why we love 360 Cookware is the combo of metals and its thickness, delivering fantastic heat conduction, and being oven safe up to 500°.  These pans can go right into the oven if you want to finish that filet to perfection that you just seared (our preferred technique).

So let’s get technical… This cookware is made of three primary metals, with a .11 gauge thickness. The inside layer that touches your food is T-304 surgical grade stainless steel with a range of 18/8 to 18/10. This range refers to the percentage amount of chromium and nickel in the metal, 18% chromium and 8% to 10% nickel. The outside layer that touches heat is T-400 series stainless steel which has a lower nickel content and high carbon steel content to interact on induction cooktops. These two layers of stainless steel surround a layer of aluminum, which ensures superior heat conduction.  But, it’s not just the number of layers, it’s the thickness, or what we call gauge.  360 has one of the thickest measurements at .11.  They also have a hollowed handle that limits the heat on the handle, so no handle covers or dish towels need to when pouring that succulent sauce over your perfectly seared filet!

We also love that this cookware is made right here in the U.S. in a green e-certified factory. Their stainless steel cookware is manufactured using a sustainable process leaving NO carbon footprint on the planet. AND, they offer a lifetime warranty.

So if you’re looking to upgrade, or just outfitting your kitchen, you can’t go wrong with their frying pans.  As a partner of 360 Cookware, they offer Gourmandise students 20% off your entire order on anything on their website, and ya can’t do better than that on Amazon – so TAKE ADVANTAGE!
