Ingredients

  • 1 recipe Homemade marshmallows see the link
  • 2 cups Colorful sanding sugars
  • 1/4 cup Melted chocolate

Instructions

  • Prepare a cookie sheet with a sheet of parchment paper or foil. Cover half the cookie sheet with a good layer of sanding sugar. Prepare a large piping bag (we prefer them 18″-24″ or plastic freezer bag with a round tip (we like large tip #5 from Ateco) and fold the bag over halfway. Have a silicone spatial on standby.
  • Prepare the marshmallows just as we describe in the recipe. Fill the bag halfway with marshmallow, then bring the bag back up.
  • To pipe, squeeze ovals of marshmallow, holding the tip about 1″ from the cookie sheet, onto the sanding sugar. Wait 2-3 minutes, then pipe an S-shaped head, finishing towards you, to form the head. DON’T freak out if the first few look like loch nessies. You’ll get the hang of it.
  • Sprinkle remaining sanding sugar over the piped cuties. Melt chocolate and paint eyes onto the peeps with a tiny paintbrush or toothpick.
