Located in the heart of Santa Monica, The Gourmandise School is the perfect location to shoot your next scene or project.

The Gourmandise School is a hands-on cooking school with state-of-the-art Commercial Kitchens used frequently for filming television shows, photograph shoots, demonstrations, teaching, recipe-testing, and more.

The kitchen includes:

• (2) Long stainless steel working tables with seating for up to 24 (16 comfortably)
• Range with 6 burners and a hood
• Large industrial size double oven
• Walk-in pantry
• Refrigerator and Freezers
• Dish Room with laundry machine and dryer
• We have access to additional adjacent space to create a separate intimate dining area if desired, as well as storage or crew set up.

Filming/Photography/Publicity/Chef Rental Fees

• 3 hours or less: $2, 000
• 3- 6 hours: $5, 000
• Full Day Rental $10, 000 (Over 6 hours)
• OVERTIME: Every 30 minutes over allotted rental time will incur a $500 fee.

Support staff is available for $25 per hour per person. (Dishwashers or Culinary Assistants). If you choose not to use assistants or dishwashers there is a $200 cleaning fee. A deposit of half the rental fee is due upon booking. The remaining fee is due upon arrival at The Gourmandise School. Should the rental run over the allotted time frame, the additional fee will be due before leaving. Deposits are non-refundable. Payment Terms Credit card must be provided to hold date.

To reserve, 50% deposit is due at time of booking. Final payment is due 48 hours prior to event. All payments must be made via credit card. We accept all major credit cards. Corporations paying with check must bring final check on day of event or pay in full at time of deposit.

Cancellation/Date/Time Change Policy: Cancellations will result in the loss of the deposit. We will do our best to accommodate date and time changes with a $100 change fee. Rescheduling must be done at least 1 week prior to event.

Parking Parking for The Gourmandise School is available in Garage 7 & 8. Lot 7 is preferred because there is walking bridge to the Dining Deck on level 4 of the garage. Pay for parking: first 90 minutes free and $2 an hour after that. The daily max is $17. There is a freight elevator and loading dock – entrance is located off of Broadway.

A Certificate of Insurance must be provided at time of booking covering a minimum of $1,000,000.

Security Santa Monica Place provides security for the entire building; The Gourmandise School can help coordinate with them to accommodate any high profile guests.

Large deliveries for a rental cannot be made more than 24 hours ahead to the school. Deliveries must be coordinated with Claire Hutchens – Claire@TheGourmandiseSchool. Loading dock and freight elevators are available for unloading heavy equipment.

Maintaining a Clean, Safe Work Environment Cleanliness and safety are the renter’s responsibility at The Gourmandise School. Following proper sanitary guidelines is mandatory. Most incidents can be prevented through consistent use of good safety practices, safety awareness, and detection and reporting of hazards.

The renter accepts liability for the loss or damage to The Gourmandise School equipment and will pay to have any damaged or lost equipment replaced.

The Gourmandise School prohibits discrimination, sexual harassment or harassment on the basis of race, religion, age, physical or mental disability, color, national origin, sex, or sexual orientation. This applies to all employees, vendors and customers. The Gourmandise School has a zero tolerance policy against sexual harassment toward employees, interns, vendors and customers.

The Gourmandise School does not sell or serve alcoholic beverages. Renters are allowed to bring in outside beverages with no corkage fee. No renter is allowed to consume, possess, sell, or purchase any illegal drugs on The Gourmandise School Property. In addition, this policy allows The Gourmandise School to remove any renter from the space who is deemed unsafe for a kitchen environment due alcohol consumption in excess.

The Gourmandise School does not accept liability for the loss or damage to personal possessions while on our premises. If a renter’s belongings are found they will be secured and every effort should be made to return the item to its owner.

The Gourmandise School does not tolerate violence or threats of violence in the workplace. Any violence or threats of violence should be reported immediately.
